At North Phoenix Orthopedic Surgeons, you can be assured we will be devoted to the diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and prevention of injuries and diseases of your body’s musculoskeletal system.  The physicians and clinical staff here at NPOS care for patients of all ages, from children to young athletes requiring sports medicine, shoulder surgery, knee surgery or hip surgery to older people with arthritis who may need replacement surgery.

An orthopedic doctor has extensive training in the proper diagnosis and treatment of injuries and diseases of the musculoskeletal system.  The physicians at NPOS completed up to 14 years of formal education preparing them for orthopedic surgery including hip, knee and shoulder surgery.  Four years of study in a college or university, four years of study in medical school, five years of study in orthopedic residency at a major medical center and one optional year of specialized education.

Patients have benefited from technological advances in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine such as joint replacement and arthroscopic surgery that allows the surgeon to look inside a joint.  Your visit with NPOS will start with a personal consultation and physical examination.  Necessary testing for proper diagnosis, such as blood test, x-rays or other tests may follow this examination.

Your treatment may involve medications, casts, splints and therapies such as exercise and possibly orthopedic surgery. For most orthopedic diseases and injuries there are more then one form of treatment.  Your surgeon will discuss the options with you and help you select the best treatment plan to allow you to live an active and functional life.
